What to expect

My approach is founded on the idea that before you can tell a story you have to take the time to understand it.

It starts, like most good things, with a good conversation -hopefully over a martini or a coffee - and actually meeting each-other. (Queue Julie Andrews singing “Getting to knooow you” in The Sound of Music).

The last thing you want on your wedding day is some stranger showing up and poking a camera in your face and trying to order you around. I promise I won’t do any of those things.

I chose this career because I get to create something beautiful for real people, and one of the best parts is meeting the real people along the way.

We’ll also take all the time we need in the months leading up to your wedding to plan a clear timeline, go over any details and make sure we’re 100% comfortable and aligned.

My wedding day coverage is based on the notion that the best way to tell the story is to get out of it’s way and let it rip. We’ll take a few minutes here and there for portraits, but I’ll never ask you to repeat something for the camera or pretend to do anything. You’re whole job will be to focus on being present.

I prioritize film photography when conditions are right because film is a medium that lends itself to deep attention and care in the way that I shoot. It requires that I invest myself in the story.

My hope is that every picture I take feels like it’s in motion and is most beautiful to the people whose story it tells.

If you’re interested in my work fill out the contact form with some details. You’ll receive a pricing guide with different package options and we’ll set up some time to chat through them before I’ll ask you to commit to anything. Packages start at $3,000.

I won’t promise to make you look like some particular Instagram model or somebody on the cover of Vogue. But what I will promise is to get to know you, to be invested in your story, to pay attention to the details, and to capture it’s particular beauty without getting in the way.

“Benjamin helped us capture the unexpected, the small stuff that have become our biggest memories from the day. He was personable and easygoing. His shots are composed and artful. We especially liked his use of film. There are so many photos of us just having fun and they are natural. He cares and it shows. “
